I have designed a comprehensive range of products in the alarm product category, including the first-generation wireless sensors, wireless panic button, wireless relay, wireless hub, and BC82. These products seamlessly integrate into Verkada's system, serving as the foundation for a complete alarm ecosystem. The Verkada First Alarm Console connects and unifies all the components I have designed, providing a cohesive and efficient solution for alarm management.

Verkada 1st all in one alarm console.
The BC82 Alarm Console lets employees see and manage what is happening in their building, whether they are on-site or miles away. It allows employees to view live camera feeds, scare off intruders via talk-down speaker and siren, connect wirelessly up-to 60 verkada alarm sensors within 1,000ft, all from a single device.
Industrial Design
The BC82 is a feature-packed device, its physical size is larger due to the stacked components. The industrial design prioritizes the user's experience, condensing everything into a single thin touch panel for interaction. Other elements like the speaker, siren, and talk-down speaker are discreetly positioned below the screen, seamlessly functioning in the background. The split form design gives the device a sleek appearance, appearing less than 10mm thick from most angles despite its actual thickness of over 30mm.
Desk-top solution
In response to Verkada's unique three-month trial offer for all products, our industrial design team has developed a distinctive desktop mount solution. This mount is designed to be user-friendly, ensuring easy setup for customers. We have also prioritized premium quality materials and craftsmanship to ensure durability and longevity. Additionally, we have incorporated an appealing design aesthetic, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the product and complementing any workspace environment.
Design and the business
Verkada's commitment to a quick-to-market strategy has provided me with valuable insights into the relationship between design and business. This understanding allowed me to design the panic button and door sensors, leveraging Verkada's emphasis on delivering the best user experience and seamless integration with their system. In parallel, the other three sensors were designed as "white label" products, enabling Verkada to swiftly enter the market with a comprehensive portfolio of alarm systems. Finally, the BC82 serves as the cornerstone of the ecosystem by consolidating all components into a single, versatile device. Together, these efforts have empowered Verkada to establish a strong presence in the alarm system market.
